Ascension Day holiday at the Øresund Aquarium

The Ascension Day holiday is approaching, and we’ve packed the days full of fun and educational activities for the whole family. Come and join in the feeding sessions, visit the garfish in the aquatic laboratory, or meet our little new lumpfish fry.

Feeding in the aquarium

Every hour on the hour, you can watch feeding sessions in selected tanks. The aquarium’s guides share fascinating stories about fish and other marine life from the Øresund. The first feeding session starts at 11am at our three-stage mixing tank. Here, you can help feed the animals yourself.

Feeding and activities in the Water Laboratory

Summer is approaching, which means our activities at the Water Laboratory are about to begin!

During the Ascension Day holiday, you can take part in the following activities:

  • 11.30 am
  • 1.30 pm
  • 3.30 pm

Here you can:

  • Feed the animals
  • Borrow water binoculars
  • Learn about the Øresund’s unique wildlife – all in the company of our nature guides

The Øresund Quiz

Take the Øresund Quiz and learn more about the wildlife of the Øresund as you make your way through the exhibition. Pick up the quiz at the ticket office.

Animal News

Over Easter, we had a visit from lumpfish, which laid lots of eggs.
The eggs have now hatched and tiny lumpfish fry have emerged. If you’d like to see the cute little fry, just ask one of our guides – they’ll show them to you as soon as they can.

Practical information

We are open during the Ascension Day holiday from Thursday 14 May to Sunday 17 May, from 10am to 5pm. Admission is DKK 95 for adults, DKK 75 for children (aged 3–11) and free for children (aged 0–2). The aquarium is located approx. 10 mins’ walk from Helsingør station.
