The wondrous world of the Øresund

Dive into the wonderful and fascinating world of the Øresund during the winter holidays and discover the small, exciting animals hiding just below the surface.

During the winter holidays (weeks 7 & 8), the Øresund Aquarium invites you to a time filled with unique and educational experiences. Together, we will explore life at the bottom of the Øresund and meet the amazing creatures that live side by side with well-known species such as cod, porpoises, seals and tuna. The programme offers lots of fun and exciting activities for the whole family: touch live sea creatures, help with feeding, take part in the Øresund quiz, unleash your creativity in the Kreatorium and take a look in the Øresund laboratory.

The wondrous world of the Øresund

Did you know that thousands of strange and fascinating animals and plants live at the bottom of the Øresund? Here, where we rarely venture, a rich and diverse life is hidden. During the winter holidays, we will take a closer look at these hidden creatures and explore their wondrous universe.

Join us in the Øresund Laboratory

In week 7, you can join our guides in the laboratory, where we open the doors to a world of exciting sea creatures. Look through the stereo microscope, see exciting finds in the dry exhibition and get up close to animals from the depths of the Øresund. Here you can meet sea cucumbers, sea anemones and sea sponges, among other things.

Times: 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Feeding the fish in the aquarium

Every hour on the hour, you can watch feeding times in selected aquariums. Animal keepers and guides share fun and exciting stories about fish and other sea creatures from the Øresund.

The first feeding takes place at 11 a.m. at our touch pool, where you can also help feed the animals yourself.

Join our guides behind the scenes. Here you can touch various sea creatures and hear fascinating stories about their lives.

Times: 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Be creative in the Creative Workshop

Unleash your imagination in the Creative Workshop, where you can draw and colour your own amazing sea creatures.

Open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter holidays.

Open in the evening

We are open in the evening on Thursday 12 and Thursday 19 February from 5pm to 9pm.

At 6pm, there is feeding in our reef aquarium, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour with one of our guides.

Practical information

Opening hours: every day from Saturday 7 February to Sunday 22 February from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
